Coffee is one of the most loved and hated foods out there. People are so for it or so against it. I've been on both sides of the battle. I let go of balance in my life a long time ago. I do the best I can with my diet and my day to day living. Sometimes coffee is really what I need, sometimes it's not. I'm a busy mama, I work a lot, I do a lot all day long. Sometimes I just need an extra boost.

I admit, there is coffee in my cupboard right now. Organic, fair-trade, mycotoxin free (so it says) coffee. I’m personally not at the point where I want to kick coffee 100%, there is a place and a time for it, I find that works best for me is taking time off and using it only when I feel like my adrenals are in a good place. I drink coffee maybe 2 times per week. I use it when I need it, as tool and I truly enjoy it.

What I’ve started doing is making my coffee a healthy and sacred practice I got the inspirations from my Sedona girl and co-founder of Sakara Life Whitney Tingle. She wrote an article over at Mind Body Green all about coffee and making it a ‘healthy experience”.  I took her idea and ran with it!

Side note – If you are healing from any disease, cleansing or have just broken a cleanse, step away from the coffee (unless it’s a coffee enema of course!!)

What You’ll Need

1 1/2 cup organic brewed coffee (cold brew is fine too if you have a strong blender)

1/2 cup almond milk or favorite milk

1 tablespoon MTC oils or coconut oil (carried in our shop)

1 teaspoon ghee (optional)

1/2 teaspoon of maca powder

5 drops of stinging nettle extract (can be found at most heath food stores)

5 to 10 drops of adrenal support tincture or powder (we carry adrenal essence in the shop)

1 tablespoon Sun Potion Reishi mushroom powder (carried in our shop)

1 tablespoon stoned ground organic almond butter

1 tablespoon organic fair trade raw cacao powder

stevia or xylitol to sweeten

Blend all ingredients in your vitamix or high speed blender. Enjoy without guilt because guilt is worse for you than coffee.

Want us to make it for you? We can do that, come into the shop and ask for the Superfood Coffee. We got you!
